Spring ushers in a powerful new season of The Supervet, the hugely popular series in which the brilliant and empathetic ‘bionic vet’, Professor Noel Fitzpatrick and his team provide cutting-edge care and compassionate support for both animals and their human families
The new season sees Noel and his team facing some of their most emotional and technically challenging cases to date.
Caroline arrives at Fitzpatrick’s with fourteen of her rescue dogs, including Cookie, a tiny 4-year-old Papillon. Cookie has developed polyarthritis that has destroyed the cartilage in her elbows. Noel offers Cookie a double total knee replacement – the smallest he has done yet.
14 month-old Bernese Mountain dog Guinness is rushed in by Alice and Glen after he is suddenly unable to stand. Noel discovers that an exploded disc in his spine is spreading infection and crushing his spinal cord. There is an anxious wait ahead for Guinness’s family as Noel attempts to reconstruct the damaged spine.
It’s finally time for 2-year-old German Shepherd Max to undergo surgery to give him a specially designed bionic foot. He lost his left foot when he was crushed by a car in Romania, but a local charity rescued him and he’s been given a second chance by his adoptive family Julie and Andy.
