Pixie

Diane is looking forward to spending Christmas with her Bionic cat Pixie who was seen by Noel as an emergency 11 months ago.

Pixie came to Fitzpatrick Referrals as an emergency when she had been badly injured in a car accident. Her pelvis was shattered and both of her hind legs were badly damaged. Noel knew he had to try and save at least one of her hind legs to give her a chance of recovery.

Noel placed an external frame to support Pixie’s pelvis but it was apparent that her left hind paw had a serious problem, and it was necessary to amputate the affected lower part of the leg and provide Pixie with a prosthetic PerFits foot.

Pixie rapidly figured out how to use her new PerFits amputation prosthesis and within only a few days she was walking on her implant! Read Pixie’s full story here.

Pixie has been at home now with her mum for the last 10 months.

Pixie is doing most of the things she used to get up to before her accident, including climbing the six foot fence into the neighbour’s garden.  She is a tough little cat and has a great quality of life. Diane says she is very proud of Pixie and grateful for the superb treatment from Noel and all at Fitzpatrick Referrals.
