The Supervet returns to Channel 4 for the eight series following Professor Noel Fitzpatrick and his team at Fitzpatrick Referrals
In tonight’s episode, Cockapoo puppy Maya is rushed into Fitzpatrick Referrals after being hit by a car. Her leg is badly damaged leaving much of the skin dead, so Professor Noel Fitzpatrick has to embark on a series of operations including a skin graft where her leg is sewn into her stomach in an attempt to grow new skin around the wound. Holly and Will face an anxious wait as they are parted from their furry baby for the first time.
Polly brings in her rescue Chihuahua, Twiglet, after she fell down the stairs while chasing the cat. A failed operation has left her with shattered bones and metal in her tiny paw. With limited options, Noel attempts a combination of procedures. But he has never carried out this operation before and if he fails, Twiglet could lose her leg.
Gentle giant Sweeney, a Great Dane with a big personality is brought in by Sally after being diagnosed with a cancerous tumour in his leg. Sally is hoping Noel can perform a unique procedure; replacing bone with metal to avoid amputation and restore full function. It’s a high-risk operation with no guarantees of success and both Noel and Sally face an anxious wait post-surgery to find out if the cancer has spread.
